Introduction to Fantasy Football Analysis Sites

We compiled and described 17 fantasy football analytics sources so that you do not have to!

There is a lot of fantasy data out there and it can be a lot to keep track of. Overall, most sources on this list are trustworthy in terms of value and accuracy, the trick is choosing the right combination for your needs. Most quality analytics sites charge a subscription fee so always look before you leap. Make sure what you are buying has the right level of sophistication for your liking and covers all formats that are important to you.

Seriously fantasy footballers, especially those that play dynasty, may need to subscribe to multiple data sources to get everything they need. Luckily most subscriptions aren’t much more than a moderately serious league’s buy in.

Did we miss your favorite analytics source? The internet is big so it’s certainly possible. Please contact us and let us know!

Fantasy Data for All Formats

Fantasy Pros

The most robust and mainstream of fantasy football stat and analysis sites. The best paid fantasy data site and considered essential for many serious fantasy footballers. If you’re serious about fantasy football, you have at least considered membership.

It also offers content for all skill levels with a range of tools including draft kits, mock drafts, trade analyzer, sit/start advice, fantasy rankings and league sync. Fantasy Pros is a good value with flexible subscription plans to fit your needs.

The Fantasy Footballers

Most people know The Fantasy Footballers for their excellent podcasts. They also provide a stellar draft kit and other hard stats.

The interesting thing about The Fantasy Footballers is that they bring some really deep and sophisticated types of fantasy football analysis to the mainstream. Several of the core metrics in their draft kit are hard to find professionally calculated, compiled, and made accessible anywhere else.

Then there’s the “#FootClan” content which provides a ton more information to Patreon supporters.

Fantasy Data

If it is a fantasy relevant detail that can be described as a number Fantasy Data has it. That extends beyond fantasy football into the other major fantasy sports. Their base numbers are so good they power several of the other tools on this list.

It is a mountain of great analytical content in a very clean and easy to use package, clearly built for analytical fantasy managers in mind

Fantasy Alarm

Great for fantasy football line up help, Fantasy Alarm has an easy start/sit tool to compare players. You can also import your line up for a more automated experience and the site comes with to be expected weekly projections and rankings.

Much of Fantasy Alarm in paid, but the number of tools and obscure stats is impressive. Fantasy football managers that really want to get out in the weeds love their more obscure published stats like redzone specifics, snap trends, and CB coverage.

4for4

4for4 is a quality over quantity statistics sites, that goes beyond fantasy, even daily, into full NFL sport betting, so you know they take their numbers seriously. The services come with fairly high price tags priced per season.

In addition to a variety of tools, 4for4 includes a solid body of written content with helpful guides on how to play fantasy football. Another area 4for4 shines is its high polish, everything is well done and professionally produced.

Fantasy Football Calculator

Like many of the others on this list Fantasy Football Calculator offers a full suite of tools for winning fantasy football championships. This includes, draft tools, trade organizers some specifics for daily fantasy.

The most unique thing about Fantasy Football Calculator is that they rely on their own data for predictions. For example, all of the preseason average draft position stats and player rankings are built off mock drafts run on the site. While there’s a danger of smaller sample size the data at hand is truly unique.

NBC Sports Edge (formerly Rotoworld)

Rotoworld is an originator in fantasy analytics but after being incorporated into NBC rebranded to NBC Sports Edge. It still offers solid fantasy data across sports including the typical fantasy football formats and sports betting.

Some of the top resources on the site for fantasy players include an edge finder (and its vast accompanying databases of statistics), a draft guide, multiple daily fantasy sports (DFS) tools, reports, projections, and league syncing. Most options are paid, but at only $4 per month the price is affordable for serious fantasy footballers.

Football Outsiders

Deep stats in somewhat of an old school package. Find obscure metrics going back to the 70s and 80s.

FF Today

Home cooked projections and rankings from FF Today offer an interesting “second opinion,” to the mainstream stats providers. Unlike many of the tools on this list all data and tools are free.

FF Today is also one of the oldest fantasy sites on the internet founded in 1998 with the birth and explosion of online fantasy sports.

Pro Football Reference

The resource for fantasy managers that want to get so deep the analysis they are looking for does not exist yet, anywhere. Pro Football Reference has every recorded statistic down to the game for the NFL going back to the 1960s.

Outside of random prop bets the data at Pro Football Reference is far deeper than what most fantasy footballers need. If you ever wonder how your favorite analyst profiled all running back on a particular obscure metric over the last 30 years, this is probably it.

Fantasy Football Analytics

Fantasy Football Analytics is fairly simple in terms of tools and stats provided. Nevertheless it does two uncommon things very well through a novel approach to fantasy football statistics.

First it is a ranking and projections aggregator scraping nearly every resources available online, then weighting them based on historic predictive power. Second, it allows sophisticated rule and setting changes so those weighted projections apply directly to your league.

Fantasy Nerds

“Consensus Aggregation,” in a really user friendly package at Fantasy Nerds. The simplicity in presentation hides the sophistication that goes into aggregated projections.

Fantasy Nerds scrapes a huge range of online statistics providers then weights their predictions based on past accuracy to come to a weighted consensus for each player. Where it really excels though is presenting that data in an easy to understand way. Only key metrics are displayed and setting for different formats predefined.

Dynasty Specific

Dynasty League Football

A robust fantasy football experience entirely focused on dynasty format. While most other dynasty focused sites operate as an add on or enhancement to other types of fantasy analytics sites Dynasty League Football has it all.

It’s like Fantasy Pros, just all dynasty football all the time.

Keep Trade Cut

Keep Trade Cut is the dynasty trade calculator for the people. In true democratic fashion values are based entirely on how users rank them. While tracking ADP is nothing new, Keep Trade Cut asks site visitors who they would keep, trade and cut.

While the accuracy of making the user base the expert is a point of frequent debate between KTC supporters and critics, it is a fantastic tool for understanding where the dynasty community stands on a certain player. They are also doing something right as one of the most frequently quoted trade calculators.

Dynasty Trade Calculator

One of, if not the most polished dynasty trade calculator out there. Dynasty Trade Calculator is a delight to use! Unlike most other trade calculators is highly configurable based on criterial like your scoring settings and league size.

DTC does have a subscription fee, but it’s affordable to for anyone that plays a lot of dynasty in modified formats since trades are the absolutely life blood of winning dynasty teams.

Dynasty 101

An originator for dynasty trade calculators, Dynasty 101 has an easy to use calculator that is great for quick checks and rapidly prototyping trades. Unfortunately, Dynasty 101 declined over the last several years offering less content season after season.

Dynasty Process

Dynasty Process is a free, easy to use constantly developing dynasty fantasy football trade calculator. The site itself is completely mobile first! That makes it a fantastic resource for those who are mostly on their phones, which is most people. Maybe the best part about Dynasty Process is that they expose all their standard values for download in one file, making it easy to marry DP values with other data sets. So far as we know, that is totally unique among trade calculators
